Amazon’s the biggest name in online retail – for many, it’s a one-stop convenience store. As the popularity of online shopping grew over the last year, we discovered some new Amazon buying tricks, so we’ve updated this guide with more tips to help slash prices.
1. Check out the deals of the day
Open Amazon.com/Deals (also called Today’s Deals) — which is where Amazon lists its latest sales. You can find lists of product categories that have bargains, from electronics to home goods to kitchen items.

2. Look for coupons
From the Today’s Deals page, navigate to the Coupons section and look for brands of those types of items that have coupons. Be sure to hit the clip coupon button to activate those savings.
3. Subscribe to save
Use Amazon Subscribe & Save smartly. It’s no secret this program routinely gives you 15%-20% off on items you order regularly. Look for higher discounts — you might see 40% off your first shipment of a certain item, for example. Then you might cancel that subscription down the line, after you have ve received that initial shipment, or skip the next shipment if you don’t need a refill yet.
4. Consider an Amazon Prime membership
Amazon Prime gives you several benefits including free one-day delivery on many items, access to TV shows, movies and some Premier League games, music streaming and more. Amazon offers newbies a free one-month trial* of the service.
The beauty is you can sign up, then just cancel the trial before Amazon charges you – forget to cancel and you’ll be charged the normal $79 for a year’s Prime.
5. Ditch multiple Prime subscriptions or split the cost by sharing Prime benefits with another adult for free
Amazon allows one person with Prime to share their membership benefits for free with another adult via Amazon Household. You can also add up to four kids profiles – you won’t be able to share all the Prime benefits with a child, but you can share some digital content, eg, books and games.
The other adult needs their own Amazon account and once you’ve authorised each other, you’ll be able to share selected benefits including free one-day delivery on many items, Prime Video streaming and more. It means you can save on the cost of multiple subscriptions, and even split the cost of Prime membership without having to share login details.
