What to do with avocado?

Avocado, also known as the “nature’s butter,” is a fruit that is rich in nutrients and tastes great in a variety of ways. Whether you’re a fan of creamy guacamole, salads, sandwiches, or just want to savor its buttery goodness on its own, there’s a variety of delightful options to explore with this green fruit.

Let’s start by discussing about guacamole, which is everyone’s favourite way to prepare avocados. This traditional dip is really tasty and quite simple to prepare. Diced tomatoes, finely chopped onions, minced garlic, fresh cilantro, lime juice, and a dash of salt are combined with mashed ripe avocados. To suit your tastes, adjust the ingredients. Pita bread, veggie sticks, and tortilla chips are all excellent dippers for guacamole. It is well-liked by guests at events and party gatherings.

If you’d want something heavier, think about preparing an avocado salad. Ripe avocados should be sliced or cubed and combined with your preferred greens, such arugula or spinach. You can add cucumber, red onion, cherry tomatoes, and any other vegetables you choose. Drizzle with a basic dressing consisting of salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. For a full and fulfilling supper, top it with some grilled chicken or feta cheese.

Also try the avocado toast for a healthy, quick breakfast or snack. Top a toasted slice of your preferred bread with a generous layer of ripe avocado. For further spice, add a dash of red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. You may experiment with other toppings, such as crumbled cheese, cherry tomatoes, or poached eggs. Avocado toast is not only delicious but also a great source of healthy fats to kick-start your day.

Additionally, avocado may be a standout component in wraps and sandwiches. Spread mashed avocado on bread or wraps and layer with your choice of proteins like turkey, chicken, or tofu. Add veggies, sprouts, and a drizzle of your preferred sauce for a satisfying and wholesome meal.

Try creating an avocado smoothie for a cool, creamy drink. Blend together ripe avocado, banana, Greek yogurt, milk (or dairy-free substitute), and a little amount of agave syrup or honey. Because of the avocado, this smoothie has a thick, velvety texture in addition to being tasty.

For a unique twist on traditional pasta, consider making avocado pasta sauce. Blend ripe avocado with basil, garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil until smooth. Toss the creamy sauce with your favorite pasta for a luxurious and flavorful dish. You can also add cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, or grilled chicken for extra flair.

If you feel adventurous, try baking with avocado. Avocado can be used as a substitute for butter or oil in many recipes, adding a creamy texture and a nutritional boost. Consider making avocado brownies, avocado chocolate mousse, or even avocado ice cream for a delightful and healthier dessert.

Avocados are very versatile, and whether you prefer savory or sweet, there’s a delicious way to enjoy this nutrient-packed fruit.

You have far less on sale. We, seniors, are struggling and look forward to the weekly flyer, but there hasn't been much on there for us. Cookies pop chips etc, yes, families with kids but it doesn't do much for the old folks.

We receive the weekly GIANT TIGER flyers but they do not contain all the sale items, so I have to check my email flyer before going across town to the store on Second Line West. Good store and excellent staff!!
